Gustavo Canavire-Bacarreza

Gustavo Canavire-Bacarreza is a Senior Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank.  Before joining the Inter-American Development Bank, he was Director of the Center for Research on Economics and Finance (CIEF) and Full Professor at Universidad EAFIT in Medellin, Colombia. Prior to that he was Research Associate at the International Center for Public Policy in the Department of Economics at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He was also part of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Bolivian government. He received a PhD in Economics and a MA in Economics from Georgia State University and got an Advanced Studies Degree from the Kiel Institute for World Economics at Kiel University in Germany. Prior to this he got the degree of Licenciatura from the Universidad Catolica Boliviana. He is research fellow at IZA in Germany and Universidad Catolica Boliviana.
