Description: La Red Investigadores de Economía los invita a participar en el call for papers de la segunda edición del Congreso Anual de La Red. El tema del evento de este año será “Economía Internacional y Productividad.” Este evento se realizará los días 7, 8 y 9 de octubre del 2019 en Cali, y contará con la participación especial de Charles Engel, Robert Johnson y Marcelo Olearraga.
Eligibility: Los investigadores interesados podrán enviar las versiones definitivas de sus trabajos hasta el 2 de agosto de 2019. Los documentos pueden ser enviados en español o en inglés al correo redinvestigadoreseconomia@banrep.gov.co, y no deberán exceder 50 páginas, incluyendo anexos, cuadros y gráficos. Los trabajos seleccionados se darán a conocer a más tardar el 15 de septiembre de 2019. La Red cubre gastos de tiquete nacional y estadía en Cali por 2 noches.

Description: The Financial Market Commission (CMF), the World Bank Group - Research & Development Center in Chile, the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA), and the Escuela de Negocios de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez cordially invite you to submit your research papers for presentation consideration to the fifth edition of the "Conference on Financial Development and Stability" previously called “Banking Development, Stability, and Sustainability Conference”.
Eligibility: The Conference provides an instance to discuss a wide range of topics in the area of financial development and stability; covering new solvency frameworks for the banking and insurance industries, resolution mechanisms, the use of stress testing in managing risks, cyber-security, models of financial supervision, etc. Authors are invited to submit their full papers in PDF files, in English, no later than August 15, 2019. Research submissions should be sent to our email address. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed. No submission fee is required.

Event: Increasing Trust in Latin America and the Caribbean

Description: This research project seeks to identify ways to improve citizens’ welfare by increasing trust, social capital and collective action. The project is intended to generate evidence on mechanisms that increase trust through field and natural experiments. The studies should contribute to our understanding of the determinants of trust in LAC and the mechanisms that promote or discourage interpersonal trust and/or trust in government, politicians and public officials, and/or social cohesion and collective action. We plan to commission 5 research papers in total.

Event: Trust Measures and Interventions in Latin America and the Caribbean

Description: This research projects seeks to discover the underlying determinants of trust and transparency in Latin America. Testing interventions in lab settings, the project intends to generate evidence that informs policies aimed to improve the suspected low levels of trust in the region. The studies should help us better characterize trust in LAC, contribute to our understanding of its determinants (e.g. identity, inequality, etc.) and test mechanisms through which trusting relationships can be improved in across five cities in the region.

Event: Financial frictions: Macroeconomic implications and policy options for emerging economies

Description: The Financial Stability and Development Network of Central Banks of the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Central Bank of Chile, invite submissions for a research conference on “Financial Frictions: Macroeconomic Implications and Policy Options for Emerging Economies.” The conference will take place at the Central Bank of Chile on March 19-20, 2020. Papers presented at the conference will undergo a standard peer review process and, if accepted, will be included in a special volume of the Journal of International Economics.
Eligibility: Please send an electronic version of the paper in PDF format to ConferenceCBC-IDB@bcentral.cl. There is no charge for submissions. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2019. A submitted paper must not be under review at another journal or at the JIE, nor can it be considered for submission if previously rejected by the JIE. Likewise, while under consideration by the conference or for the JIE special volume, a paper may not be submitted to another journal (or the JIE) until the author has been notified. Submissions will be reviewed by the conference program committee. Paper selection will be finalized, and authors notified by December 15, 2019.

Eligibility: We only accept complete papers in English. Submitted papers should neither be previously published nor be under consideration for publication in any other outlet. The manuscript should include an abstract of 150 or fewer words, JEL codes and at most 4 key words. All manuscripts should be submitted in PDF format with double spacing and should not exceed 35 pages, including references, figures, and tables. Please use 12-point font, and 1.5 inches margins on all sides. Please make sure that the front page of the manuscript specifies all your contact information, affiliation, title of the paper and co-authors.
