Description: The Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE) and the LACEA Political Economy Group (PEG) are pleased to announce a call for papers for the RIDGE/LACEA-PEG Workshop on Political Economy to be held at the Universidad EAFIT, Medellín, Colombia, on 20-21 May 2019. RIDGE is an initiative of the International Economic Association (IEA). The 2019 meeting will take place in Medellin, Colombia, hosted by EAFIT, within the framework of the 2019 RIDGE May Forum.
Eligibility: Full papers, written in English, must be submitted for consideration for the forum. The cover page should include: the title of the paper, institutional affiliation, including address, phone and email of each author and an abstract with the appropriate JEL classification. Description: The Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE) is pleased to announce a call for papers for the Workshop on Public Economicsto beheld in Medellin, Colombia on 20-21 May 2019. RIDGE is an initiative of the International Economic Association (IEA). The focus of the 2019 Public Economic workshop will be on (but not restricted to): Taxation and Redistributive Systems, Optimal Taxation, Tax Evasion - Welfare Economics and Normative Economics, Social Security, Social Insurance and Health Economics, Development Economics and Policies, Behavioral Economics and Policies, Labor Market Analysis/Policies, Education and Policies, Local Public Economics and Geographical Economics. Description: LACEA BRAIN (Behavioral Insights Network) aims to unite efforts by Latin American and Caribbean economists to promote rigorous research using behavioral insights tools and collaborating with peers from across the globe. The network’s goal is to highlight state-of-the-art research techniques to advance knowledge on behavioral economics. It also aims to build bridges and cultivate feedback between the policy world and academia,while consolidating data and experiences from interventions across the region.
Eligibility: We are accepting proposals for academic papers on behavioral economics and related topics, preferably with a bearing on policy and/or development issues. Articles on topics of interest to Latin America are particularly welcome. Papers must be submitted in English, in PDF format and no later than February 15, 2019 to be considered for the meeting. Please use our web form available here.

Description: The Central Bank of Chile, the International Monetary Fund, and the IMF Economic Review are inviting paper submissions for a conference on “Current Policy Challenges Facing Emerging Markets” to be held in Santiago on July 24-25, 2019. Rising trade barriers, weak commodity prices, the ongoing monetary policy normalization in advanced economies, and the increased volatility of world capital markets create a challenging global environment for emerging markets. These challenges are further complicated by domestic vulnerabilities in the public sector, financial intermediaries and the private sector. Against this background, this conference aims to assemble an outstanding set of academic contributions on topics related to the key policy challenges facing emerging market economies.
Eligibility: The conference organizers seek both theoretical and empirical research contributions on a broad set of topics that are of central importance to these economies. Please send submissions in Adobe PDF format to: IMFER2019@imf.org. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the IMF Economic Review. Along with your submission, please indicate whether you also want to contribute to this issue. Papers that are not being submitted to the Review are also welcome. The conference sponsors will fund travel and accommodation expenses for speakers (one per paper) and discussants.

Description: The ABCDE Organizing Committee is issuing a call for innovative papers that examine how global public goods and cross-country spillovers influence multilateralism or will shape multilateralism in the years to come; and how cooperative arrangements can affect the evolution of these global public goods and spillovers.
Eligibility: Those interested should submit a complete paper (proposals will not be accepted) by March 24, 2019, 11:59 pm EST through the ABCDE website. The Organizing Committee will evaluate all papers in terms of originality, analytical rigor, and policy relevance. Authors of accepted proposals will be contacted by April 15, 2019. A final draft will be required by May 26, 2019.

Eligibility: We only accept complete papers in English. Submitted papers should neither be previously published nor be under consideration for publication in any other outlet. The manuscript should include an abstract of 150 or fewer words, JEL codes and at most 4 key words. All manuscripts should be submitted in PDF format with double spacing and should not exceed 35 pages, including references, figures, and tables. Please use 12-point font, and 1.5 inches margins on all sides. Please make sure that the front page of the manuscript specifies all your contact information, affiliation, title of the paper and co-authors.
