Description: With the aim of enhancing the capacity of LAC policy-makers to design, implement, monitor and evaluate policies promoting the development of the creative economy in the region, the IDB has launched the Technical Cooperation RG-T2959 “Promoting creativity and innovation in LAC”. One main objective of this project is to produce analytical research to allow policy makers to better formulate evidence-based public policies in this sector. Among other activities, the Technical Cooperation finances the development of three research papers which use econometric analysis to explore the relation between creative activities, innovation, and productivity in LAC firms, with a particular attention to the role played by digital technologies. 
Eligibility: Proponents should ensure that complete documentation is submitted. Complete documentation includes: the research proposal (up to five pages), CVs (up to two pages per researcher involved), budget and timeframe. Description: The Euro-Latin Network on Integration and Trade (ELSNIT) is now accepting submissions of papers examining the effects of trade and investment promotion policies along the economic and institutional dimensions.
Eligibility: All researchers who are associated with a European or Latin American/Caribbean based academic or research institution are eligible to submit papers. While detailed abstracts will be accepted, there is a strong preference for nearly completed papers. Submission should be accompanied by a statement declaring the institutional affiliation of the authors. The papers should be written in English.

Event: Call for research proposals - “Metrics that Make a Difference: The Use of Indicators of Well-Being and Sustainable Development in Policy”

Description: On the 23-24th October 2019, the OECD, in partnership with DANE, DNP and the Universidad del Rosario will hold the International Conference on the Policy Uses of Well-being and Sustainable Development Indicators in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in Bogotá, Colombia. A Call for Papers is being launched to source relevant research and case studies related to the use of multidimensional indicator sets in well-being and sustainable development policy, that will be presented at the conference and included in an online proceedings document which will be made publicly available following the event. Selected authors will be invited to present their papers at the conference in Bogotá.
Eligibility: We invite submissions in two tracks: completed papers and non-completed papers, which can be submitted in either English or Spanish. Please note that we will pay close attention to proposals that present new evidence and conclusions for the LAC region.

Description: Slow and diverging productivity growth is a matter of global concern. The 2019 Chilean Productivity Workshop aims at gathering researchers interested on issues related to, among others, measuring, understanding and improving the productivity and performance of firms and public services. This first version of the workshop is co-organized by the Chilean National Productivity Commission (CNP), Universidad de Chile, Universidad Diego Portales, and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. We are pleased to announce that this year keynote speaker will be John Van Reenen, who is the Gordon Y. Billard Professor in Management and Economics, and is a jointly appointed Professor of Applied Economics at the MIT Sloan School of Management and in the MIT Department of Economics.
Eligibility: We are particularly interested in theoretical and applied papers looking at drivers of productivity and evaluation of policies to enhance productivity.

Description: The Financial Stability and Development Network of Central Banks of the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Central Bank of Chile, invite submissions for a research conference on “Financial Frictions: Macroeconomic Implications and Policy Options for Emerging Economies.” The conference will take place at the Central Bank of Chile on March 19-20, 2020. Papers presented at the conference will undergo a standard peer review process and, if accepted, will be included in a special volume of the Journal of International Economics.
Eligibility: Please send an electronic version of the paper in PDF format to There is no charge for submissions. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2019. A submitted paper must not be under review at another journal or at the JIE, nor can it be considered for submission if previously rejected by the JIE. Likewise, while under consideration by the conference or for the JIE special volume, a paper may not be submitted to another journal (or the JIE) until the author has been notified. Submissions will be reviewed by the conference program committee. Paper selection will be finalized, and authors notified by December 15, 2019.

Please use 12-point font, and 1.5 inches margins on all sides.
