Trade Integration and Growth Network

TIGN the successor of the Regional Integration Network (RIN) has as objective to gather the best researchers working on growth and trade, with a focus on Latin America.

The LACEA-TIGN network aims to build a high quality network of economists working on issues related to the linkages between trade, integration and growth, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. The network is a deepening of the previously existing LACEA network RIN that had an emphasis on trade and integration themes. With this reformulation LACEA aims to expand the topic covered by RIN to trade-related productivity and growth outcomes.

The network develops its activities through the organization of an annual meeting to discuss current and future research priority issues, as well as its relevance for policymakers. For more information please visit TIGN WEBSITE.

The IMPACT EVALUATION NETWORK (IEN) at the Latin American and the Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) is pleased to invite the eighth annual meeting that will be hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank, taking place on September 11th and 12th, 2014, Washington DC, USA. The Network is seeking papers that use impact evaluation techniques applied to program or policy, with priority given to evaluations in countries in the region. Against the backdrop of discussions about the post-2015 development agenda, and in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Global Development Network (GDN) invites you to submit a written essay with your innovative ideas and fresh thinking about the future of development assistance. Up to 20 winning entries chosen by an international jury will receive US$ 20,000 each. Select winning ideas may be promoted by GDN and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Network on Inequality and Poverty, in collaboration with the World Bank is organizing a conference in Washington D.C., USA on November 10th, on 'Gender and Agency in Latin America and Caribbean Region'. This Call for Papers invites the researchers to submit papers relevant for advancing knowledge on how to measure and expand women’s agency. The deadline for submission is September 26, 2014.
