2005 Election Results

The election process for new LACEA authorities was completed during the 2005 Annual Conference in Paris, France.  A total of 252 ballots were returned for tabulation and the results were as follows.

Elected Vice President: Mauricio Cárdenas

Elected to the Executive Committee: Graciela Kaminsky, Roberto Rigobon, Laura Alfaro, Arturo Galindo, Pablo Sanguinetti and Ernesto Schargrodsky

New terms will start on January 1, 2006 and will last for two years in the case of the Vice-President (later to become President) and four years for Executive Committee members.

Starting on January 1, 2006 and until December 31, 2007, the 12 members of the executive committee will be: Laura Alfaro, François Bourguignon, Arturo Galindo, Graciela Kaminsky, Nora Lustig, José A. Ocampo, Carmen Reinhart, Roberto Rigobon, Andrés Rodríguez-Clare, Jaime Saavedra, Pablo Sanguinetti and Ernesto Schargrodsky

 

2003 Election Results

The election process for new LACEA authorities was completed during the 2003 Annual Conference in Puebla, Mexico.  A total of 235 ballots were returned for tabulation (ballots were sent by e-mail to LACEA members and were also handed out to new members registering at the Puebla conference in October) and the results were as follows.

Elected Vice President: Andrés Velasco

Elected to the Executive Committee: François Bourguignon, Nora Lustig, José A. Ocampo, Carmen Reinhart, Andrés Rodríguez-Clare and Jaime Saavedra.

New terms will start on January 1, 2004 and will last for two years in the case of the Vice-President (later to become President) and four years for Executive Committee members.

Starting on January 1, 2004 and until December 31, 2005, the 12 members of the executive committee will be: Nancy Birdsall, François Bourguignon, Raquel Fernández, Francisco Ferreira, Nora Lustig, José A. Ocampo, Guillermo Perry, Carola Pessino, Carmen Reinhart, Andrés Rodríguez-Clare, Jaime Saavedra and Cristina Terra.


2001 Election Results

The election process for new LACEA authorities was completed during the 2001 Annual Conference in Montevideo. A total of 236 ballots were returned for tabulation (ballots were sent by e-mail to LACEA members and were also handed out to new members registering at the Montevideo conference in October) and the results were as follows.

Elected Vice President:

Elected to the Executive Committee:
Nancy Birdsall
Raquel Fernandez
Francisco Ferreira
Guillermo Perry
Carola Pessino
Cristina Terra

New terms will start on January 1, 2002 and will last for two years in the case of the vice-president (later to become president) and four years for EC members.

Starting on January 1, 2002 and until December 31, 2003, the 12 members of the executive committee will be: Nancy Birdsall, Eliana Cardoso, José De Gregorio, Raquel Fernández, Francisco Ferreira, Ricardo Paes de Barros, Guillermo Perry, Carola Pessino, Federico Sturzenegger, Ernesto Talvi, Cristina Terra and Andrés Velasco.

1999 Election Results

During 1999, a nominating committee headed by Carlos Vegh worked exhaustively to assemble a strong field of twelve candidates to fill six open slots on the executive committee and elect a new Vice President. Under LACEA's bylaws, the Vice-president becomes President after serving two years.

Ballots were sent by e-mail to LACEA members. In all, 114 ballots were returned for tabulation before the August 31st deadline. The results were as follows.

Starting on January 1, 2000 and until December 31, 2001 the 12 members of the executive committee will be: Nancy Birdsall, Mauricio Cardenas, Eliana Cardoso, Jose De Gregorio, Ricardo Hausmann, Ricardo Paes de Barros, Jaime Ros, Federico Sturzenegger, Ernesto Talvi, Mariano Tommasi, Carlos Vegh and Andres Velasco.
